Juniors
Our goal is to create a popular Junior Golf Program for our Club and to provide the best opportunities for all junior golfers to participate and love the game.
Here at Ballina Golf & Sports Club, we are fortunate to have fully qualified PGA Professionals to provide first class guidance and encourage the growth of the game through junior golf.
We teach the fundamentals of golf for all skill levels and ages using fun games, drills and activities, ensuring all our junior golfers learn in an enjoyable and safe environment.
The Ballina Junior Golf Program provides all the necessary equipment for your child to begin learning the game.
Our coaching sessions are conducted on Monday afternoons between 4-5pm, during school terms. Junior golfing members will have access to the course at varying times through the week for casual play under parental supervision.
First Session |
---|
The first session we allow potential Junior members to come along and try the game of golf. This session is free and inclusive to everyone willing to come along. Due to personal injury liability and insurance, the Junior will need to join the Club before coming along a second time. |
Supervised Practice |
---|
The junior program is not designed to be an intensive coaching program. It is about encouraging participation and enjoyment in the game. Our sessions are conducted on the putting green, chipping green and on course. We run through the basics of the game with simplified instruction aimed to improving skills and creating engagement. |
Advancement to Members Competitions |
---|
Once the Junior has attained a satisfactory level of competence in their golf ability, has a sound understanding on the Rules of Golf and have displayed etiquette and behaviour expected on a golf course, they will have the opportunity to apply for a Golf Australia handicap through Golflink. |
