Dear members,
Firstly, I would like to apologise to players affected during the week with the aeration of the fairways. I acknowledge that we should have better informed players that the daily conditions would have been impacted in advance of play. At the time we scheduled this work to occur, it was not intended to have a significant impact to the playing conditions, however, with overnight rain and wet ground conditions, many players found play more challenging.
We have listened to feedback received and we will make greater attempts to proactively advise members ahead of their round regarding scheduled works. These scheduled works are important to the health of the golf course and playing surfaces, to maintain optimal turf coverage and plant health. To ensure we are open for play as many days / tee times per year as possible, it does mean at times works must occur during play. Our team try their best to minimise disruptions to play, and schedule course work away from tee times when possible.
This coming week (25th March) please note the following scheduled works:- our team will be topdressing greens, spreading fertilizer on fairways and spraying pre-emergent on fairways. The 1st tee on some days will be further forward than usual as works will be occurring on the cart shed roofs, and due to the risk of golf balls, the 1st tees will be further up the fairway.
Kinds Regards,
Andrew Porter
